The scheduled outing to Peebles was cancelled due to weather conditions brought about by Storm Bert! However 26 members did have an enjoyable, bracing coastal walk from Dalgety Bay to Burntisland. Being at the coast there was little snow, just a severe wind, rain and sleet! Thanks to Aberdour Hotel for an impromptu coffee break & the Kinghorn Golf Club for an enjoyable social hour.

High levellers climbed Meall Ghaordaidh while the Low Group also climbed to reach Lochan na Lairige.

East Kilbride Hiking Club headed east for a cracking coastal walk recently kicking off from Aberlady Bay.

A 42-strong group headed off by coach from the Murray Owen centre to bypass Edinburgh and tackle an 11 miles (18 km) section of the coastal path to North Berwick.

The weather was variable but generally dry and members were able to enjoy spectacular vistas over to islands in the Firth of Forth.

Golfers getting into practice for the Scottish Open paused in their stroke as they waited patiently for a large group of talkative EKHC members to pass close by the green .

A social hour in the golf club hotel gave hikers the opportunity to relax and sometimes grab a bite to eat.

The club members look forward to more walks in the next couple of months including a day in the Lake District and an exciting week away hiking in the Italian Alps.
